BLACKMORE VALE WALK
6th January 2008

It was one of those days!

Some of us were quite tired from the previous night's party, but we all managed to park safely, despite unexpected icy conditions at the walk start-point.

We set off confidently in the crisp clear weather, but after a while one of the group realised he wasn't carrying his back pack and had to go back to the cars in case it was sitting in the road (fortunately it had never left the boot).

We then negotiated lumpy fields, slippery stiles, very large puddles and other obstacles, only to find that the pub where we planned to have lunch was fully booked!

Then it all started to get better.  We found a farm shop and cafe just down the road where we enjoyed wholesome tasty food and good service  - the Eton Mess made with raspberries was particularly delicious.

Barry then led us safely back to our cars by a suitably gentle route - just in time to avoid the rain.
