Maiden Castle Short Walk
3rd June 2007
Trisha organised a short walk around the battlements and earthworks of the absolutely fascinating Maiden Castle near Dorchester in Dorset. Why this is not more protected like Stonehenge is baffling. The views are spectacular, the history enthralling and the sheer size of the place is staggering. It was a must-see and Trisha was rightly thanked by all of us for arranging it.
We retired to the Sun Inn on the Old Sherborne Road for an excellent carvery (and some vegetarian options) that was of such a size that we could not eat our usual puddings! Again, trisha had booked this all in advance and we were very grateful.
Well done, Trisha.
