Lulworth to Ringstead Bay Long Walk
5th May 2007
Mary writes: An intrepid group of five and a very elegant dog roamed the hills west of Lulworth Cove on Saturday.
In perfect weather and under excellent leadership from Alison, we first followed an inland path, surrounded by hills and fields, and then crossed to the coast, where we picnicked on a clifftop with a stunning view of the coastline, an aquamarine sea, orange sand and waves breaking on the rocks.
After lunch there were some long plodding climbs and steep treacherous descents, the latter negotiated with sticks or bottoms - this was not a walk for the faint-hearted, but it was thoroughly enjoyed by the Famous Five Fulcrumites, who, on reaching Civilization (and Crowds) once more, had a stroll round Lulworth Cove and a well-deserved ice-cream. Fantastic.
