Gussage St Michael Walk
Sunday 16th December, 2007
We chose a clear but very cold day for our walk in the north-east of the county.

Barry led us past ancient earthworks, along Roman (and older) routes, including Ackling Dyke, with far reaching views from the high points.

Lower down, we encountered clear chalk streams running through pretty villages, where we could admire some amusing Christmas decorations.

After the walk, we found a cosy and friendly country pub for lunch, which served hearty food, offered a good choice of beers, and had interesting decor, including the ceiling festooned with hops.
