BRIT VALLEY LONG WALK
9th September 2007

We had beautiful late summer weather for our walk along the route of the River Brit.

It began in the pretty town of Beaminster, where several streams flow down from the surrounding hills to join up under the streets and leave the town as the Brit.

We meandered across open fields, skirting the villages of Netherbury and Pymore, stopping for a leisurely picnic and then a brief rest  at a country pub.

The market town of Bridport provided a contrast to the peaceful countryside, but we managed to stick to footpaths most of the way through it, passing close by the well known thatched brewery with its water wheel.

After a few more fields we finally arrived in the bustling seaside town of West Bay, ready for a well earned ice cream!

Thank you Penny.
