Quick Guidelines For Members’ Submissions
All members are encouraged to submit photos and/or stories
of meetings to the website. To stop any misunderstandings or upsets, please
follow these commonsense guidelines:
- Stories and Photos (everything,
actually) – we are a family-friendly site that is viewed from across
the World (literally!), so I try to keep it sensible;
- Photos – please do not include any
shots of people who have objected to their pictures being used. I end up
spending ages trying to remove them from the site and it is much quicker
for me not to have put them in there in the first place;
- Photos – you don’t need a reason for asking for an image to be withdrawn,
just that you do. However, I have to be able to identify it. All our
photos have a unique name, which should appear as you hover
your pointer over the picture itself (probably on the bottom of the page).
If you want one of the shots removed then please try to tell me what this
identifier is, if you can, as well as describing the shot. There are
hundreds of shots on the site and I can spend hours searching through them
– don’t forget there are thumbnails as well as full-sized shots!
- Photos – family-friendly shots in
colour or black-and-white, straight or modified, landscape, panorama, or
portrait are all fine. Please make them as JPEG format and, if you know
how, a standard 600 pixels wide (don’t worry if this puzzles you, just
send what you have and I’ll try to sort it out this end);
- Stories – in Arial, Times New
Roman, Verdana, or similar as not
all computers can display fancy scripts – again, don’t worry if you are
puzzled as I can sort it for you;
- Stories – sorry, no RUDE words! There’s really no
need and I’ll only take them out before publication, which seems to upset some
authors;
- Stories – let me know if you are
unsure of spellings and things and I will help as much as I can.
- Stories – first or nicknames only
please – saves me removing them this end;
- Stories – no addresses or emails
addresses or phone numbers as they too will be removed.
- Lastly, commonsense rules – If
something might upset you or has upset you and you want to have it dealt
with, then please first email me (here) or, if you prefer, Penny (here)
and tell us what it is that has upset you, and we will try to resolve the
problem to the satisfaction of all. Personally, I am not a Prima Donna in
this and am happy to modify anything I place on the site until you are
satisfied. This is YOUR website and you should be free to enjoy it.
