Some of you may already know but Richard and

I were married on the 17 July, hence the change of name

and the late posting of the programme!  We went on honeymoon cruising on the Rhine, which was lovely but we have found it difficult to get back into the routine, so apologies Fulcrum, you weren’t forgotten.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE.  It is annual subscription time again.  Please could you send your subscription of £12, £18 for a couple, to Richard Peacocke at the above address.  Subs should be submitted by 1 September either in cash or cheque.  Cheques must be made payable to Fulcrum Social Group.  If subs are not  received by 14 September, the club will assume that you do not wish to rejoin.

 

The AGM has been arranged for the 1 October.  It is important that as many members attend as possible.  The venue has yet to be finalised and will be arranged according the number of people who are able to attend.  Please confirm your attendance when you submit your subs.

Please let your host know that you are attending an event and, in particular, please book by the specified dates as late-comers may be disappointed.  Events may be cancelled if you don’t book in time.

Saturday 7 Bridport Art Centre.  Elijah Wolf – Good local band, singer/song writer.  Charity event – tickets £5.  For more details, please contact Sharon.

  

Wednesday 11 Anchor Inn, Seatown.  Free Lifeboat event.  BBQ at reasonable price, table top sale.  Starts at 5.00 pm, usually a great evening.  For more details please contact Sharon by 9 August.

   

Saturday 14 Mr Kyps in Parkstone, Poole.  The Bad Shepherds are playing.  Adrian Edmondson from the Young Ones is in the group.  Tickets are £15 and can be purchased from Ticketweb 08444 771 000 or http://www.mrkyps.net/kyps/Index.aspx  Please contact Alison by 7 August if you would like to go.

  

Sunday 15 A 4-mile walk at Osmington followed by lunch at the Springhead pub.  Meet at the Springhead Pub in Sutton Poyntz at 10.00 am.   Please contact Richard for more details by 10 August.

  

Sunday 22 Buckham Dog and Pony Fair at Buckham Downs, Beaminster.  Home of Martin Cloones.  Charity event.  10.00 – 4.00 pm, fair goes on until 9.00 pm.  We read about this in Dorset Life and thought it might be a good day out.  Please contact Stephanie by 15 August.

Tuesday 5 Steak Night at Darby’s Corner Inn, Waterloo Road, Poole.  Meet at 7.30 pm.  There is an alternative menu available.  Please contact Richard by 1 October if you would like to go.

 

Sunday 17 A 4-mile walk at Wimborne Water Meadows followed by lunch.  Meet at 10.00 am at car park, Cowgrove Road, beyond football ground.  Venue for lunch to arranged dependant on numbers, dogs, etc.  Please contact Richard for more details.

   

Thursday 21 Deadline for ideas for our new Winter Programme, please.  

   

Saturday 23 Meal at the Antelope Inn, Poole.  Meet at 7.30 pm.  Please contact Jill by 17 October if you would like to go.

 

Saturday 30 Games Night at Stephanie’s.  Start at 6.00 pm.  Bring and share supper. You know it’s a good night out! Please contact Stephanie by 25 October.    

 

EXTRA: Sunday 31 Hallowe’en and Candle-lit Gardens at Abbotsbury. Meet at the main gates just short of the entrance. Please contact Richard for more details.

 

SPECIAL REQUEST.  Please could I have your ideas for the Winter programme by 21 October 2010 by e-mailing me on the above email address.    Without members suggesting and hosting the events, the group would not be a success so please put the 21 October in your diaries now.  If you have missed the deadline but have an idea for an event, please let me know and we can put it on the web site and e-mail those on the Google group.

 

It is very disappointing when members go to the effort of hosting events and people do not show interest, so come on Fulcrum members, support the hosts and club.
