Chair’s & Programme Coordinator’s Report

Thanks to everyone for attending AGM No 7 and welcome.

It has been another successful year with some lovely meals and walks and I would like to personally thank all those members that have hosted an event and to those who have attended.

Membership-wise, last year we tried advertising for new members in various ways. This cost the Group quite a lot of money and, to continue this effort we would have to raise subs substantially. I don’t think the members would want this.

It has also been a frustrating year for programmes but we have muddled through in the end.

As you know, I am standing down as Chair and Programme Coordinator from September onwards and am looking for a replacement this evening. We are also in need of a Programme Coordinator, a Treasurer and a Secretary, as these posts will also fall vacant. Without these posts being filled, we will have to close Fulcrum Group as an entity, but that doesn’t stop people still getting together for meals and to meet up from time to time. It just means that Fulcrum Social Group won’t be the underpinning that it was, with programmes and so on.

Webmaster’s & Secretary’s Report

All-in-all it has been a very quiet year for the Secretary, who is also the Webmaster. No new members, no applications, no letters received, letters posted. A quiet year.

More activity on the website with reports and photos being put up of successful meetings throughout the year. We still garner visitors from across the world.

The Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm

5. Treasurer’s Report - about £40 left in the account by the end of the year.

6. Election of new committee:

A. Chair - no one has volunteered

B. Programme Coordinator - no one has volunteered

C. Treasurer - no one has volunteered

D. Secretary - no one has volunteered

E. Webmaster - remains in post

7. As nobody has volunteered for the committee posts, with effect of 1st September 2011, if no committee has been elected by that date, the Fulcrum Social Group will cease to exist. All monies in the account will be disbursed and the remaining few pounds will be donated to Julia’s House (Unanimous vote for) and the account closed (Alison to action). All club records will be destroyed and the website will go into mothballs for a year to allow members to down-load any photos they might want to keep (Richard to action). There will be no further meetings beyond those in August 2011. If members wish to stay in contact with each other, the Google Group newsletter system will remain operational for the following year(Richard to action).

8. AOB:

Proposed by Tricia and seconded by Jill - that a vote of thanks be given for the work done by the committee this past year. Passed unanimously.
